Hiya, just catching up on sharing a layout I created for the Hip Kit Club. Did you know that it is super easy to subscribe to the kits even from NZ! There are a couple of options for subbing, either monthly or to save a bit of postage you can sub bi-monthly as this does make it a bit cheaper. Either way, you are super lucky as you receive lots of amazing up to date product from some of the biggest scrapbooking designers and also there are lots of Hip Kit exclusive products that you can ONLY get if you subscribe.
I really wanted to create my layout around a fun and eclectic title with a vertical design using the two different Alphas in the September kits. The Gold Chipboard alpha from the September 2017 Main Kit, and the HKC Exclusive Puffy Alphabet and the Glitter Girl Phrase Stickers both from the September 2017 Embellishment Kit. Before I started to create my title work I created my background using the two Shimmerz mists from the 2017 September Color Kit (Caribbean Sunset Spritz and Tuscan Sun Spritz) which provides the background for my title work. Then the fun bit begins – I started with the photo I chose and the sentiment I wanted to portray in my title which also acts as my journaling on my page. I first chose a couple of the Glitter words as they have some cool shapes to work with and then added in some little details in around it. I then added in the gold Alpha and the exclusive Alpha as well mixing up the colours and fonts. To further add interest and fun, I started layering some of the Alphas under and over each other which gives the title movement. Lastly, I added in some of the Chipboard from the Turn the Page Collection by Paige Evans to complete my title work.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have enjoyed my layout share xx
My next layout share is a Mixed Media one! I don’t do a lot of mixed media but I totally enjoyed creating this one with the Hip Kit Club March 2017 kits!
I started off with the patterned paper from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection and added some white gesso to it and then used the stencil from this month’s Color Kit with the Paste-eez (Hold the Mustard and Raspberry Sherbet) in a grid design and then added some extra straight to my page with an old credit card.
I really wanted to add some more vertical design so I created the linked circles in my Silhouette Cameo and used these circles to anchor my embellishments.
I really loved the way this turned out and I am totally enjoying getting the Color Kits from the Hip Kit Club each month. It is a great way to try out new mixed media products and they work so well with the monthly main and embellishment kits.
I am a bit behind on my blogging after being away on holidays. So I have a few things lined up to share over the next few days to catch up.
Firstly, I have a layout to share for the Hip Kit Club using the March 2017 kits. Each week there is a sketch posted up on the Hip Kit Member Forum on Facebook and 4 designers play along. This is the sketch that was designed by the fabulous Irit Landraf:
Here is my take:
I created the circular design in my Silhouette software by combining 3 different circles and used this as the basis of my layout of my daughter Aimee’s first day of school! I flipped the sketch design around a bit but loved how it had two photos offset on it – perfect for the photos I had of Aimee and one of her with Taylor and their friends on her first day.

Have you thought about going green? Today, I am here to show you just how easy it is to use green on your layouts! The focus of my layout was to highlight a particular colour. The March 2017 kits are so full of lots of different colours but one of my favourite colours to work with is ‘greens’. From aquas, to mints to forest greens there are so many different options in the March 2017 kits that you can use.
When I am creating a layout with just one main colour focus, I start off by finding all the little bits and pieces that are in that colour theme. So I started looking through the 2017 March kits and picking up all the green papers and embellishments that I thought would work on my layout.
First off, I was drawn to the the Paige Evans no 24 patterned paper as those little squares are just begging to be fussy cut out. I loved all the different designs on each of the little squares but because they are all the same colour it doesn’t make my layout too busy or over the top. The squares and my smaller photos really started me off on a grid style design which really allowed me to add lots of fun embellishing touches too.
Once I got my general design laid out on my cardstock it was really about embellishing those little squares and creating interest and dimension. I have used a couple of project life cards from the March 2017 Project Life Kit on my page, I have mat my photos of my girls on one of the mint ones, added the MARCH word to the side of it and also cut out the triangle that sits at the bottom right hand side of my page. The ‘Sweet’ word on the Shimelle Little By Little patterned paper just fit my title perfectly.
The squares on my grid design created their own little areas for me to add embellishments to and there was lots of opportunities to add detail with all the embellishments in the kits. I finished off with some black elements which I felt helped tie in my black and white photos and some of the gorgeous HKC exclusive enamel dots.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope I have inspired you to create a monotone layout with the Hip Kits and maybe give ‘green’ a go too.
