I love creating fun layouts with lots of interesting layers and today I have my last layout to share with you using the May 2017 Hip Kits. Using ephemera is one of the easiest ways to layer up your embellishments … Continue reading
Hi, today I am sharing a layout for Hip Kit Club using the February 2016 Kits. I have used one of my favourite patterned papers in the kit for my background and I love how the black and white photo and the other papers/project life cards ‘pop’ on the navy spots! I have also used some of the project life cards and Amy Tangerine stickers and frame as embellishments on my page! Taylor loosing her first tooth was a momentous occasion in our house and I couldn’t wait to record this special event in her life.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have enjoyed my layouts with the February Hip Kits. I have one more for next week before my March kit arrives hopefully in the next day or so. Til next time Mxx
Happy Saturday everyone..
I do love doing challenges… the last one for CSI is about to close tomorrow so I thought I had better finish that layout that I started earlier on in the week.
This was the CSI:
I started off using a SC Mask and texture paste to create the start of my visual triangle. I was definitely using up my stash with the almost vintage Echo Park For the Record collection coming out for this layout. The colours fit perfectly with the colour scheme we had to use.
Evidence:Typewriter accent, Typewriter font, Clock, Transparent (the clock), flower
Testimony: Typewriter font & using ‘message’ in my journaling.
A close up of my journaling – I started off by using my vintage typewriter so you can just see that bit popping out of the top of the photo. Then my journaling is mainly about loving how I have captured the joy of Taylor in my photo. I would rather have a 100 unposed photos that told a story rather than just a pose for the camera. More details – love using PL cards on my layouts. The cards here were from the Midnight BH collection. That’s all from me today. Thank you so much for stopping by…
It is our second reveal for Creative Scrappers. I hope everyone who played along enjoyed the first sketch but now it is time for sketch #252:
This one is from the gorgeously talented Jenny Evans and wow I just love those stripes – lots of scope to play around here with strips of patterned papers, washi tapes, masking, cameo cuts and lots more endless possibilities.
Here is my take on the sketch:
I had so much fun creating this… I was lucky to purchase a 1/3 of the Dear Lizzy Fifth & Frolic project life kit so I thought why not use some of the gorgeous 3×4 inch cards to help mat my photos. Even only having 1/3 of a kit still means I have a lot of cards to utilise and layering them on my layout is a perfect way to add detail. Next, I have used two of my new Crate Paper Pier frames to frame two of my photos and then added lots of bits of leftover pieces of patterned papers under along with the negative of a chevron cut out on my cameo.
Details: One other little tip from me. I may be really slow to the party here but usually I try and outline my alphas on my titles after I have already adhered them to the page. But I usually stuff up a letter and end up drawing on my layout which I really hate as I am a closet perfectionist! This time I decided to outline my letters on the sticker sheet – doh lightbulb moment. Yep – you guys already probably do this all the time! But for me it has made that so much easier – I used to be so put off doing that as I usually hated the end result. Not any more – if I stuff up a letter then I can just use another one (hopefully!!)
Thanks for popping by my blog today. I hope you have enjoyed the latest reveal, the designer layouts and the little details you have seen on my blog.
Until next time!
