Today I wanted to share a layout I created for a challenge over at the Paper Issues Facebook group. I am still not so patiently waiting for my March Hip Kits so I am doing a bit of stash busting right now.
At kindy this week I helped on a trip along the estuary walk way to one of Aimee’s kindy teacher’s homes where we had a picnic morning tea on her massive front lawn. The kids had a ball, it was a good 5km walk and they all managed so well. The highlight was using the toilet at the teachers house ! I snapped this photo of Aimee and one of her kindy teachers (Sharon) as Aimee had jumped in her lap for a cuddle. I love how happy and comfortable Aimee is snuggled in there. I just had to scrap it.
I have used lots of older Hip Kits mixed up together . It was a white space challenge so 2/3rds of your page had to be white space.
Some close ups:Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Do you like creating layouts with lots of white space?
I haven’t been doing a lot of creating lately but today I am going to share my design team layouts for Just Nick Studio for October.
My first layout features Pretty Little Studio’s – Here Come’s The Sun collection. How amazingly adorable is this collection – I couldn’t resist buying lots of it to create my layout. I have used two different Just Nick Cut Files on my layout: Heart Explosion Background and the Simple Scallop Strips and I loved using the bright pops of colour from the this collection behind both of the cut files on my page.
Close ups: My second layout is a Halloween inspired layout and I went all out girly pretty Halloween style for this one! I love creating texture with cut files so I cut out the Hey Spidey Background cut file in white cardstock and then layered it back onto white again. I added pops of mint green patterned paper under some of the sections of web and added the puffy stickers and enamel dots to the points and negative spaces of the web as well. I loved the ‘Too cute to spook’ title from the 31 cut file set was just perfect for the sentiment that I wanted to portray. I cut this out on black cardstock pop dotted it to add some dimension to my page and used this as my title. Some close ups:
That’s all I have for today, I hope you have enjoyed my layouts with the fabulous cut files from the Just Nick Store!
It is a rainy Monday morning here and after the weekend I am catching up after the weekend with blogging some scrap layouts I have completed recently. I have a busy week so trying to get on top of all the house stuff and things so it is less stressful all round. I have always got great intentions of being organised, meal plan and such like but often feel like I am even too busy for that. What do you guys get up too to be organised for the week!
In the meantime, here is case file 171 for CSI. I really liked this colour scheme although struggled a bit end the end… the mojo has been lacking of late!
And here is how I solved the case file:
To create my background I used ‘the all heart’ cut file from The Cut Shoppe as a stencil with texture paste.
Evidence: Stripes, Triangles, food related embellishment, jar, labels, something transparent, texture paste, wood and cork and dots!
Testimony: Documented a celebration – Aimee’s third birthday!!
Some close ups: The deadline for completingCase File No. 171 isThursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. EST. I hope you have time to play along with us for this challenge!
Taylor has been super lucky to have a great friend at kindy. They have been glued to the hip for just about a year and have been so good for each other. Both the girls love spending time hanging out and playing imaginative games inside and out. They both love doing the ‘monkey bars’ at kindy. Today, Petra started school which is a bit sad but school is on the same grounds as Taylor’s kindy so they can ‘meet’ each other at the fence. Often kids who have started school who have been to the kindy come and ‘visit’ their old friends. When I asked Taylor today if she thought Petra would be excited about starting school. She thought for a minute and then said Nah. I was like why is that. She said because Petra would miss me so MUCH. Bless.
Queens Birthday Weekend Taylor was invited to go and stay with Petra’s family at their bach up North. What crazy four 4 year goes off for a holiday with a friend for 3 days at that age – actually she reminds me of myself when I was young. Taylor had a BLAST, she was spoiled rotten with lots of fun at the beach, games, hot chocolates and playgrounds, scooting to the shop for ice creams, bouncing on the trampoline in the rain in her pjs, pancakes for breakfast. I’m pretty sure she will jump at going for another visit up there with her friend. I know they will have lots of memories of their adventures up North.
This layout is one of the photos Petra’s mummy took for me. I just LOVE Taylor’s expression in this photo and I couldn’t wait to scrap it. I did a weekly challenge for Hip Kit Club which was to be inspired by a layout from Stephanie Bryan as well as to use up lots of bits and pieces from your stash, stitching, labels, something shiny.
I hope, you and Petra are best friends forever! You have such a special bond. //Michelle
I am super excited to be the Guest Designer for Scrap Our Stash for June. The June Scrap Our Stash challenge is to use the word = B R A D S as the basis of designing layout. Here is how I used these elements on my layout.
I just love taking part in challenges which use up my stash. As like most scrapbookers – I do have a fair bit of that. For this layout I was inspired by an Instagram photo of my daughter and her best friend at dancing together. I love using lots of product on my layouts along with white space for balance – so I have included lots of layering and lots of words to portray my feelings about the photo I am scrapbooking and the girls cute bond at such a young age. I was instantly drawn to using the colour Blue which was perfect for the word challenge. I started off my layout with some pale blue mist and some hand drawn circles on some white cardstock and then I dug into my stash for some gorgeous products from Maggie Holmes, Dear Lizzy, Heidi Swapp and Freckled Fawn. Finishing it off with some sequins to add some interest.
B – The colour blue
R – Round circles drawn on my layout
A – Arrows
D – doily/doodling
S – Stickers, sequins, stamping
I would like to just thank ‘Scrap Our Stash’ for inviting me to be a Guest Designer for June. I have loved creating a layout for this challenge. I hope to see all your challenge entries in the gallery so do link up your projects for a chance to win this month’s amazing prize pack full of Simple Stories and other yummy goodies!!.
Today, I’m sharing a layout with you for Color Stories Inspiration. Case File 153: This file is pretty on trend with colour themes in recent kits I have purchased as well as some pieces of the ‘Stitched’ collections by Amy Tangerine and several bits and pieces from lots of different Maggie Holmes’ collections which I have used on my layout too. My take on the case file:
Evidence used: Circles and Texture Paste
Testimony: Document a milestone – this layout is about Taylor having her 4 year old immunisations and being so brave about it. To celebrate we went out for icecream and fluffies afterwards just the two of us.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have enjoyed my layout share today.
