Have you thought about going green? Today, I am here to show you just how easy it is to use green on your layouts! The focus of my layout was to highlight a particular colour. The March 2017 kits are so full of lots of different colours but one of my favourite colours to work with is ‘greens’. From aquas, to mints to forest greens there are so many different options in the March 2017 kits that you can use.
When I am creating a layout with just one main colour focus, I start off by finding all the little bits and pieces that are in that colour theme. So I started looking through the 2017 March kits and picking up all the green papers and embellishments that I thought would work on my layout.
First off, I was drawn to the the Paige Evans no 24 patterned paper as those little squares are just begging to be fussy cut out. I loved all the different designs on each of the little squares but because they are all the same colour it doesn’t make my layout too busy or over the top. The squares and my smaller photos really started me off on a grid style design which really allowed me to add lots of fun embellishing touches too.
Once I got my general design laid out on my cardstock it was really about embellishing those little squares and creating interest and dimension. I have used a couple of project life cards from the March 2017 Project Life Kit on my page, I have mat my photos of my girls on one of the mint ones, added the MARCH word to the side of it and also cut out the triangle that sits at the bottom right hand side of my page. The ‘Sweet’ word on the Shimelle Little By Little patterned paper just fit my title perfectly.
The squares on my grid design created their own little areas for me to add embellishments to and there was lots of opportunities to add detail with all the embellishments in the kits. I finished off with some black elements which I felt helped tie in my black and white photos and some of the gorgeous HKC exclusive enamel dots.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope I have inspired you to create a monotone layout with the Hip Kits and maybe give ‘green’ a go too.
Hi everyone, I am totally Keepin’ it Cool whilst waiting for my March Kits to arrive (not really but I am totally trying to do so). There has been lots of requests for creating boy pages with the kits, so today I am sharing a masculine layout of my almost 13 year old son and I am also stash busting with the October 2016 Hip Kits. I have used a mix of both the Main Kit and the Embellishment Kits on my page.
I am totally motivated with the graphic nature of scrapbooking with Black and White photos at the moment and lots of white space. Scrapbooking with a black and white photos makes it easy to adapt the Hip Kits to work with just about any theme. I also love how the patterned paper and embellishments pop on the page as well. I definitely find it more of a challenge to scrap boy layouts especially when they are at the tween/teen age but I find keeping it quite hip and fun using lots of words, tags and a masculine colour palette is the way to go.
I have used the Pink Paislee Take Me Away Thickers to create my title – originally it was a phrase called ‘Keepin it Real’ but I changed it to include cool instead as I felt it was a bit more appropriate for the photo of my son and one of my cousins’ kids. And it adds more interest to my page.
How cute is this camera! Added a little heart to it for some interest too.
The ‘leaves thickers’and the ‘hanging with my fam’ works perfectly for my photo as it was a family reunion when the photo was taken. The little glasses worked so well with the boys both wearing the glasses it was an easy choice to add them to my layout as well.
I hope you have enjoyed my layout today and I have inspired you to use your Hip Kits to create layouts about the boys and men in your lives.
Today I wanted to share a layout I created for a challenge over at the Paper Issues Facebook group. I am still not so patiently waiting for my March Hip Kits so I am doing a bit of stash busting right now.
At kindy this week I helped on a trip along the estuary walk way to one of Aimee’s kindy teacher’s homes where we had a picnic morning tea on her massive front lawn. The kids had a ball, it was a good 5km walk and they all managed so well. The highlight was using the toilet at the teachers house ! I snapped this photo of Aimee and one of her kindy teachers (Sharon) as Aimee had jumped in her lap for a cuddle. I love how happy and comfortable Aimee is snuggled in there. I just had to scrap it.
I have used lots of older Hip Kits mixed up together . It was a white space challenge so 2/3rds of your page had to be white space.
Some close ups:Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Do you like creating layouts with lots of white space?
Today I have my first layout to share with you featuring the March 2016 Hip Kits. We are so lucky to have lots of Hip Kit Exclusive Papers designed by the talented Kim Watson – including this wood grain I have used as my background. I have used a sketch designed by Ashley Horton which is one of the challenges set each week in our online Facebook forum (Hip Kit Club Member Forum on Facebook). If you haven’t checked out this lovely community you need to come along and join in the fun. This is the sketch:I totally love the embellishments in the March Kits, Ephemera from Basic Grey (Saturday Morning), Elles Studio (Little Moments) and Pinkfresh Studio (Felicity collection) – they are perfect little treasures to layer on your layouts.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest layout for Hip Kit Club xx
Hi, today I am sharing a layout for Hip Kit Club using the February 2016 Kits. I have used one of my favourite patterned papers in the kit for my background and I love how the black and white photo and the other papers/project life cards ‘pop’ on the navy spots! I have also used some of the project life cards and Amy Tangerine stickers and frame as embellishments on my page! Taylor loosing her first tooth was a momentous occasion in our house and I couldn’t wait to record this special event in her life.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have enjoyed my layouts with the February Hip Kits. I have one more for next week before my March kit arrives hopefully in the next day or so. Til next time Mxx
Hi everyone, hope 2016 has been amazing so far! For some reason, my WordPress has been a pain and not wanting to add any photos to my blog post so I haven’t been able to post any layout pictures in the last couple of weeks. But it seems to be back on track so fingers crossed.
Here are two layouts I have done with the Hip Kit Club – December Kits. The first one is of Taylor and I on New Years Eve. I used the cut file designed by Nicole Nowosad for the December Kits to create my background by using the ‘stars’ as a mask with texture paste. I then added a piece of the vellum from the Cardstock Add On Kit to soften the pale green cardstock that I have used on my background.
My second layout with the December Kit is a cute one of Aimee and one of the birds that is at Sandspit Holiday Park. For this layout, I used a few pages from the Maggie Holmes Shine Collection 6″ paper pack from the December Embellishment Kit. I also loved the wood veneer ‘dream today’ which I altered and coloured in a cute mint colour. The birds from the Maggie Holmes Shine Collection Chipboard pieces were perfect embellishments for my photo too.
Hope you have enjoyed my two layouts with the December Kits. I have one more to come this week so will share when I can.
