Once Upon A Sketch – December

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas !!  Ours was super busy as usual and all the kids got thoroughly spoiled!  Although we had to wake up our older two children at about 8am as they were still sound asleep – what is with that!  Liam was still excited about Santa’s offerings… but definitely watching to see how everyone’s presents stacked up and how many each person received.  Taylor had no clue about Santa (apart from the fact that she was completely freaked out by him and really didn’t want him visiting the house) BUT what she totally got was opening presents.. and wanted to do that to ALL the presents.  Open presents please was what she mostly said all day. Aimee – just enjoyed eating the paper.

Righto… I created a layout for the latest challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch.  Anyway, got half way through the challenge… totally focussed on the journalling criteria when I realised doh it had to be December related… thankfully, I could pry off my original photo choices and chuck on our Santa photo!  The colours actually worked better with the new photo… funny how that happens.

We all lined up to see Santa a couple of days before Christmas… I knew Taylor was going to have a problem sitting on his knee but all the while lining up she was quite happy and chatting about Santa and sitting on his knee. Until we were next in the queue.. the little girl in front LOST it.  And of course.. our turn, Taylor wasn’t going to have a bar of Santa so we all had a family photo (again this year).

My layout is based on this gorgeous sketch by Nadia Cannizzo.

  1. That’s such a beautiful layout – and I love the family Santa photo. I don’t think we have any photos of Tyler with Santa, which means we’ve only got a couple of Ethan with him! It sounds like you had a nice Christmas and the kids were excited and happy. Looking forward to Hahei?! ;-)

  2. I really think this is a beautiful layout. It is Christmassy, yet you did not choose the typical Christmas reds and greens but went for blue. I love all the details in the layout and especially the “family of 5”.
    Happy 2013, Andrea

By the way, I also participated in the challenge, have a look at my blog and if you like, become a memeber http://paperscrapsandscissors.blogspot.com/

  3. it is such a beautiful LO! love the colors and all the pretty little details you added to your project! great work of preserving memories of that special moment!
